STAFFORD DOMINATES OZWESTRY!

FIVE X - 6s IN TOP TWENTY!

Ellis Stafford's X - 6 dominated qualifying and the mains at Ozwestry, easily the class of the field. Stafford won Qualifier #1 by 9 seconds (!) on his way to TQ. He also took first and second in two other qualifiers, finishing fourth in the last one, where he spent eight seconds waiting to be marshalled and finished four seconds behind the round's TQ.

In the A mains, Stafford's X - 6 was clearly the fastest car, the only one to consistantly clear the table-top. Second-place Lee Martin, along with almost every other car in the entire race, landed on top and drove off. A late mistake put Stafford second in A-1 after leading the first part of the race. Ellis won A-2, and, in A-3 fell back to third before charging into the lead for the win.

Privateer Phil Channon put his New Math in The Show finishing tenth, while newest Team driver Tom Cockerill won the B, making three X - 6s in the top 11. Dan Greenwood was also in the B along with another private car, making a total of 5 X-Cars in the top 20!
