Ellis Stafford continued his strong showing with the X – 6 after his recent Batley SuperCup win by taking pole for the Indoor Finals with TQ on the first two rounds of qualifying.  Danny McGee took round 3 with his Losi and Richard Barton’s B4 won the last round of this National Championship race.  The Indoor Finals is the culmination of the U.K. winter indoor season.

A computer glitch made sorting out the first A main very difficult.  The machine simply ignored any lap under 20 seconds!  The New Math of Ellis Stafford simply took off into the sunset from pole position winning over Danny McGee and Richard Barton, but the computer didn’t know how many laps Stafford turned, and that would prove a problem later.

Stafford made several driving mistakes in A-2 on the very technical course, finishing fifth.  Barton won the leg, with Richard Cree all the way up from 8th on the grid to finish second.

McGee won A-3 with his Losi, giving him third in the final standings.  Stafford took second in A-3, so both he and Barton had a first and a second.  The tie-breaker was who had the fastest run.  Here the computer did not have Stafford with enough laps in A-1, so Barton’s A-2 victory was considered faster, even though most in attendance thought Ellis had one.
